If we agree giving is good, the next question is how much do you spend? That will be influenced by several factors.
The first is how valuable do you consider your client to be, or put it another way, how much has your business benefitted from your client's support during the year?
The second is what expectations do you have of your client's ongoing support next year and beyond and how valuable is that likely to be to your business?
The third is what can you afford to spend, especially if you have many valued clients you want to recognise. The profitability of the products you sell will play a big part, as will the number of repeat orders you expect during the year.
It's worth remembering it's not the value of the gift that matters, but the fact you have decided to recognise your client by saying thank you with a small gift. And let's not forget the feel good factor.
